SoulMakes Giveaway by Madalynne

Have you guys checked out our giveaway by the amazingly talented Madalynne?!
She is an avid sewer and in honor of her birthday (and mine!) and the holidays, she's hosting this lovely little giveaway for the chance to win ANY SoulMakes Dream catcher!

"When hung over the bed, it only allows good dreams to filter through and catches bad dreams in its net, which disappear when daylight hits. Well, can I extend the mythology and apply it to sewing? If I hung a dreamcatcher above my sewing machine, all four of them, would it only allow good garments to be sewn and banish all the bad ones to the Land of Horrid Me-Makes? Gosh, I sure hope so, because that would save me a lot of time and thread."
-Maddie

Grandma's House

We visited Trevor's Grandparent's while we were out in Colorado. They live in a little place called Larkspur, the drive alone was so beautiful. There was a thick fog rolling in as we made our way into the mountains. We pulled over here and there to take pictures of the landscape and wildlife. The homes in Larkspur were so beautiful, they all looked like real works of art. There was deer wandering around everywhere and patches of snow decorated the grass. We made it to Grandma's house and sat down for a lovely meal just as it began to snow. It was such a beautiful evening spending time with family. Right as were leaving a little fox came trotting up to the back door looking for s snack. Trev's Grandma fed him some leftovers while we snapped a couple photos of him. Larkspur was a pretty magical place!

25

I'm wearing SoulMakes Little Feather NecklaceRiver Charm Necklace & new Dreamcatcher necklace (coming soon), Free people jacket and jeans, Spell Designs Dreamweaver bag and one of my favorite Bandit Brand tees

This past week in Denver has been so wonderful. We got to spend quality time with family and with each other. I feel so blessed that I get to become a part of Trevor's family this summer. I am turning 25 tomorrow (yep, 3 days after Christmas), so I'm feeling a little a reflective. I'm pretty amazed at how far my Higher Power has brought me. I never imagined I'd travel so much or have the opportunity to make art everyday, I never thought I'd find such a perfect mate, or that we'd accomplish so much together! I never could've dreamed of such a beautiful life and certainly not all by the age of 25, and I just know it's only going to get even more wonderful. I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in the next year, especially as we embark on our newest adventure, marriage!

I'm also excited to see where this journey with SoulMakes takes us. I never imagined I'd be the owner of a successful business, doing something I love and sharing creative energy with the world. Six months ago SoulMakes afforded me the opportunity to quit my day job to pursue this thing full time and since then we have grown far more than we ever could have predicted. Even though I love this job and my partner so much, sometimes running a business can feel like a bit of a daunting task. At times it's a little overwhelming, so I've really had to practice a lot of patience with myself (and with others, of course). Note the word practice, practice makes progress. This practice would not be possible for me without the loving guidance of  Power Greater than myself, so this past year I've spent a lot of time wondering and asking and growing my relationship with God. It's not always perfect, but it's a such a beautiful path.

I can't wait to see what kind of blessings and adventures are in store for my 25th year of life and I'm so grateful to be sharing this journey with you all. Thank you so much for you love and support!
Have a beautiful day!
Love,
MacK Mars

Denver City is such a magical little place. The city scape is so unique, with buildings rising high on a backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. There's strung lights everywhere, little Christmas markets with an eclectic array of shops. The smell of fresh baked pastries covered in cinnamon hangs in the air, begging me to indulge. Somehow everything out here seems to revolve around art. The bus stations look more like sculptures, there's murals down every alley and fantastic old architecture. There's painted pianos lining the city sidewalk with inviting signs to come and play, not to mention the creative population of street performers. Everything from robots, to contortionists, and some of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard singing for a dollar donation.

Amongst the giant souvenir stores and office buildings, there's a ton of small businesses. Naturally, I love these little shops. Being in the midwest, there's tons of cowboy boots, turquoise and leather fringe to be found in these little gold mines. It's a mecca for handmade artistry and local talent. To top it all off, Denver has a million food options. There's restaurants here I've never seen anywhere else, be it fast food or fancy dining. It's such an amazing place to wander about, especially during this season when everything is all lit up. That Christmas feeling is so alive in this mile high mountain city.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas!
Love,
MacK Mars
