I find myself drifting off into floral daydreams with a warm, bright sun shining down upon the Earth. It feels like I can't possibly wait any longer for Spring to make it's beautiful arrival. The weather here has been cold and it seems to snow a little everyday. Although the wonder of snow never ceases to amaze me, I'd just as soon not look out my window until the next season. I love that SoulMakes allows me to look ahead a little and enjoy some Springspiration. We've been adding spring items to the shop every week and we're getting ready to shoot our next look book! The next book will be littered with gorgeous flowers and vibrant turquoise gems, it's going to be a springtime day dream. We can't wait to show you what SoulMakes has in store for the coming season!

Soul Awakening

It's that time of year again, the in between seasons. I'll be the first to admit that the dull and cold of winter is a little rough on my being. I can manage to stay positive and happy through the winter, but I can not wait for spring to arrive! I have officially given in to the inevitable case of spring fever I get every year around this time. Spring is the Earth's time to regenerate, to blossom and bud under the warm, nurturing sun. Lush green grass covers the land, bright flowers bloom and air becomes warm again. The colors alone are enough to completely awaken my soul. Just the possibility of Spring being near is enough to stir up inspiration in me. I'm letting my imagination run wild, resulting of course in beautiful new SoulMakes creations! I'm so in love with these new dream catchers, they have such a spring energy about them. We also have some new bracelets and necklaces hand crafted with the vibes of an endless spring in mind. Happy Valentine's Day! Here at SoulMakes we celebrate love everyday. In fact, SoulMakes was born out of just that. Two souls sharing our creative passion with the world. We are so incredibly blessed that we get to share our love with the world everyday through SoulMakes. 

I hope that you all have a beautiful Valentine's Day and regardless of weather you're in a relationship, take some time today to celebrate love. Celebrate yourself! We were each created out of a Divine Love, feel the the energy of love that you have deep within yourself and celebrate it! Baby's Breath

Valentines day is in two days and as most of you know there is a SoulMakes wedding on the horizon! I haven't shared much about wedding planning lately, so I thought now would be a good time. In just four short months, I'll be marrying my best friend and partner. Trevor and I have been so blessed to be able to work together running the business. SoulMakes has allowed us to share our creative vision and passion not just with each other, but with the world. We make a great team, balancing each others creatives and intellectual sides perfectly. It's only fitting that our wedding should be the most beautiful art project of our lives! For the last few months we've been working our hands off on various decor projects to adorn the big ceremony and reception. Naturally, there will be tons of  little SoulMakes elements incorporated in every detail! It's going to be handmade from beginning to end, starting with our hand drawn save the dates & invites. I've also made a collection of white dreamcatchers, feather garlands, crochet doilies, and we've even hand sewn white lace curtains to hang at our gorgeous venue. Of course, I'll be layering up in some white leather SoulMakes jewels, along with my bridesmaids and don't forget about the flowers!

Our big day is going to be a very laid back, bohemian affair, so we're keeping the flowers easy. The simplicity and grace of baby's breath and a bit of lavender are the perfect touch of effortless elegance. Over the weekend I got busy with a little practice round of floral arranging. We'll be using my collection of antique glass bottles as vases. Some of them I decorated with white leather, cowrie shells, coins and turquoise, in the classic SoulMakes fashion! I even played around with draping some necklaces and bracelets around the bottle necks. Others I had fun drawing little mandala style designs, using white paint marker. I created little boutineers for the guys using feathers and a  dash of baby's breath. Of course, there will be lots of crystals scattered amongst the flowers too. We're having so much fun planning our wedding!

I am beyond excited to marry the most handsome and brilliant man I've ever known!

Featured Artist: Hannah Chloe

I was so excited and honored to collaborate with the majorly talented street artist, Hannah Adamaszek. I am a long time fan of her amazing art! One of my favorite things about my job is getting to meet other creative souls and being able to share our talents with the world together. Hannah's work is so wonderfully profound and unique. It's just the right combination of edgy and feminine. The women in her paintings are subtle and delicate, yet bold and strong. I love the earthy tones and bohemian vibe of these beauties. When I first laid eyes on these gorgeous works of art, I could immediately feel the energy. Just holding them in my hands and marveling at their grace made me somehow feel extremely proud to be woman and an artist. I could not wait to hang these mini prints in the SoulMakes studio! I immediately arranged them alongside tons of vibrant crystals, beautiful feathers and of course, some of my current favs from the shop. I think they fit in so perfectly and I am thrilled to have these totally inspirational pieces hanging in the studio.
