Foxy Lady

I decided to pick up some colored pens and paint markers the other day for a little experimentation. Until now, I've just been using black pens. I'm lovin' that extra touch the color adds. There comes a point in each drawing or whatever medium I'm using, including jewelry making, where the work is satisfactory to me, yet somehow unfinished. I've always struggled with the finishing touches, like the orange paint strokes around the fox.. I'm afraid I might ruin the piece, so I hold back. But I'm learning that perhaps it's only after I cross that line that the design becomes truly unique and truly a part of myself. I'm learning to trust the process, let go of fear and have a little fun exploring!

This attitude opens me up for new inspiration and allows me to create new beauties, like the new Foxy Lady Bracelet (white version of version of our Black Magic Woman bracelet) and the gorgeous Wild Heat Turquoise Necklace. These lovely new gems will be in the shop soon!

Weekend Highlights

We received out latest shipment of crystals over the weekend, from our favorite rock warehouse that we scoped out on our last trip to Colorado. The Rose Quartz is particularly gorgeous, such a deep, vibrant rose color! We also got some Amethyst clusters and points, Citrine Points, and Quartz points etc. So much beauty! My favorite part about receiving these gems is what's in the bottom of the bags, a million tiny little pieces of rock. I took all the various sizes and arranged this Amethyst and Rose Quartz spiral. I definitely want to make this a more permanent fixture somehow!

Amethyst and Rose Quartz are two of my favorite stones, because of their healing properties. Amethyst  was given it's name by the Ancient Greek people, the name comes from the word meaning "without drunkenness." They believed the wearer of this gorgeous gem would be protected against intoxication. Today it's considered to be a soothing stone, preventing stress and promoting spiritual wisdom. Rose Quartz is the stone of love, naturally! It restores trust and harmony in relationships and encourages unconditional love. Rose Quartz also helps to open the heart to promote friendship, deep inner healing and peace.

Gemini Rising

I recently shared about the amazingly talented artist behind Pony Gold. I had the pleasure of exchanging a few emails with Raych and she is truly a kind and gracious soul. I look up to her so much as an artist and I learned a lot from our chat! Raych is a big inspiration behind my drawing and she's definitely encouraged me to explore my style in new and exciting ways. I just received my first Pony Gold print, Gemini Rising, and Raych was kind enough to send a long a few extras with this lovely print and a very sweet hand written note. I couldn't be more grateful!

This beautiful little lady has my "MACK" written across her heart!

Raych's work is so unique and gorgeous, I'm very excited to have these beauties hanging in my studio area! Be sure to check out the Pony Gold shop!

Crystal Oracle Collection

The latest collection of gemstone jewelry is in the shop! I love the Crystal Oracle collection. The design is easy going, while still making a big statement. I always like to have a crystal around my neck and these are perfect little throw on pieces, inspired by nothing more than the idea of simple beauty.

It never ceases to amaze me how unequivocally inspired I feel when I work with these beautiful and powerful crystals. The Eternal Goddess Necklace was created out of this inspiration, made with genuine Turquoise and leather lace. It's a beautiful statement piece for the bohemian Goddess girl!

Black Magic Woman

 

Obsidian is truth enhancing. It is a protective stone, forming a shield against negative energy. It encourages exploration of the unknown and opening up to new horizons. Snowflake Obsidian shares the same properties and in addition to that, it's a calming stone bringing peace and serenity to it's wearer. No wonder the creation of this little gem had me so open to inspiration. The Black Magic Woman Bracelet, made with Snowflake Obsidian, will be hitting the shop soon!

I'm so blown away by these stones, the new ideas they bring me and how they allow creative energy to flow out of me. I'm so grateful to get to work with such beautiful materials and share them with you!

New Gems

 We have some lovely new jewels hitting the shop this week!

The Castaway Cowrie Set

Lately I've been very inspired by simple and elegant designs. I'm enjoying working with such powerful stones and I don't think they need much help making a statement, they are gorgeous all on their own. I'm loving this collection for layering around your neck or stacking up your favorite gems on your wrist. 

Gold Rush Pyrite Bracelets

Pyrite can help relieve tiredness and fatigue, it is an energizing stone and will liven up whatever area you place it in (I.E. desk at work). Pyrite also promotes positive thinking and deep understanding.

Moondance Labradorite Bracelets

I love the combination of gems that this bracelet features! It's made with moonstone rounds, Moonstone is a stone for new beginnings. It's promotes love, good fortune and enhances intuition and inspiration. The center tear drop piece is Labradorite, which is a stone for transformation. It's a useful companion during times of change, promoting strength and perseverance. Both stones are strong protectors, shielding against negative energy. I paired the two together without really thinking and later realized how perfect the match was and I don't think it's a coincidence, considering I'm about to take a huge leap of faith in my life(more on that later).
