Emerald Bay

One of the first things your notice about Lake Tahoe is that the water is clear is glass. It's such a beautiful vibrant gradient of turquoise and blue hues all the way across. They call Lake Tahoe the Lake in the sky because of it's altitude. It's set high up in the mountains and surrounded by pines and redwoods, which makes for extremely clean water, so clean , it's worth tasting! Although the weather is hot, the water remains a bit chilly. But it's so refreshing, you can't help but jump in. There's so many little beaches to see around the lake, each one different and beautiful in it's own right. We hiked down to the Emerald Bay area to find even clearer waters and stunning surroundings. There's no shells to be found on the shore, but there are feathers scattered plenty across the sand. Of course, I had to collect a few. There was wild daises growing in the sandy and there's a lot of history in the Emerald Bay area, including an old Princess Castle. It was such an amazing hike!

Have a gorgeous day!

Wild Heart

Nightcap Clothing Crochet Bells

On one our last nights in Tahoe we watched the sun go down and said a grateful good bye to this place that has treated us so well. It was a beautiful evening spent with my love! Whenever we travel I like to collect a few locally mined crystals. The crystal around my neck is a stunning mix of quartz and amethyst with sparkly pyrite encapsulated throughout, mined in Nevada. I instantly fell in love with this chunky beauty when we found it in a little crystal shop by our honeymoon house. I made myself a custom necklace with it (we'll have a similar item in the shop soon!) and I adore the way it looks with my chunky Turquoise Mountain Mama Necklace! It's been so refreshing to make myself a few new jewelry pieces, after all that's how SoulMakes got started.

My wonderful husband found an amazing boutique in the area that was a treasure chest of some of my favorite hand made brands, called Fine N Funky. He was so sweet to take me shopping and spoil me a bit and the girls at Fine N Funky were so sweet and helpful! It's so much fun for trevor and I to do these photo shoots. It's a wonderful way for us to share our creative passions and there's a certain closeness and intimacy that comes with it too. Especially since I've always been a bit camera shy!

Have a beautiful day!

Lovin' Lake Tahoe

I'm wearing:

SoulMakes Jewelry (necklaces, bracelets & diamond ring)
Spell Designs skirt + Wolf, Eagle & giant quartz rings
Lux Divine turquoise ring
Sumika festival top

We are loving South Lake Tahoe! We're surrounded by beautiful scenery all day and night and as an added bonus there's tons of Spell stockists out here, so we've done some hard core shopping(got the skirt from an amazing little boutique called fine n funky) It's such a blessing for us to be able to spend this time enjoying our first days of marriage together. The love we share for each other is so special and unique. We've always loved exploring together, going on adventures and enjoying all of God's artwork. In our wedding vows, we promised each other we would always encourage each others passions and share our creativity. This getaway has been such a wonderful opportunity to do just that!

Have a beautiful day!

As the Sun Goes Down

I made this little dreamcatcher keychain with a giant feather I found on the beach, they are scattered plenty across the sandy shore!

Check out that little lady bug!

Jewels by SoulMakes

We've spent several evenings sitting on the lake shore as the sun goes down. It's such a beautiful time of the evening. The air cools down just enough to throw on a light sweater and cuddle up with my husband on the beach. The sun ducks behind the mountains before it sets, casting shadows and scattered rays across the horizon. I love the way the the layered hills look across the lake. It's like sitting in a perfect watercolor. Being here with my husband has given me the much needed opportunity to refresh my relationship with God and simultaneously grow closer to my soulmate. It's been such a beautiful gift!

Happy weekend!
Love,
