Here at SoulMakes we love all flowers! You may have heard that SoulMakes has a brand new home town, Charleston SC. Amidst all the chaos that comes with moving, we received a breathtaking arrangement of peonies, lisianthus, roses and more! All tucked perfectly into a hand tied burlap wrap, it sure made the new studio feel cozy! Opening the box from Farmgirl to reveal this gorgeous collection of stems gave me a huge dose of gratitude and instantly made our new place feel a little more like home! I could definitely feel the love that went into designing this bouquet, not to mention, they looked perfect sitting in the studio with some SoulMakes Rock Salt Candles and Rose Quartz Crystals!

Rosey Disposition

Spring always seems to bring with it a certain rosey disposition. This is such a magical time for our mother earth, she comes alive again. Flowers bloom, birds chirp and the sun shines for the first time after a dark winter. I try to savour each of these spring time moments, carefully noticing all the bright details, especially the way our Creator paints the blooming petals of my flower garden. I spend a few moments each day meditating on the sounds of spring, just listening to the buzz in the air. I love the chorus of insects and birds humming and chirping throughout the day. It seems to coo me into a certain kind of calmness, like a lullaby perfectly written by my mother nature herself.

This is the first time in our lives that we've a backyard, or even so much as a designated outdoor area connected to our living space. We have a beautiful front porch, large back deck and below it a magical little oasis of a backyard. Since it's warmed up we've been spending plenty of time in the back yard. It's become quite a perfect escape. We've filled it with plants and flowers and I can't get over just how wonderful it is that we plant seeds and they grow into such magnificent and colorful little life forms.

Set a top our coffee table in this our secret backyard lounge is an array of rock salt candles. I have fallen in love with these radiant beauties. They range in colors from deep pinks to lighter peaches. Pink seems to have such a soft energy about it. And with candles lit inside these beauties, they radiate in a way that is so ethereal and relaxing. I just want to sit out there all day, sipping tea by the soft glow of these rock salt candles, enjoying a cool spring breeze amidst the afternoon sun. It is simply heavenly!

In Bloom

The SoulMakes Studio is in bloom and it's official. I'm completely obsessed with flowers. Not the kind of obsessed where I know everything or even anything about them, sometimes I don't even know their names. But I am totally head over heels for anything that grows out of mother earth and yields bright petals. I'm kind of in awe that these beautiful beings grow out of the very ground we walk on. I'm particularly mesmerized by the wide variety of colors and hues that appear in each individual flower. Bright reds, blushing coral tones, deep blues, pastels, the most vibrant shades of greens and everything in between. The number of different and unique colors that come to life with each bloom is enough to blow my mind, colors I've never even imagined before.

Naturally, spring is one of my favorite seasons. It's a time when earth comes back to life. I'm ever impressed and inspired by the vision our Creator has when painting the canvas that is our world. I seek to understand all living beings and to regard the mysteries of life with curiosity and joy. I admire all forms of life and seem to always find beautiful and wondrous metaphors in nature that parallel our human lives perfectly. I thoroughly delight in each one of these connections! I also truly believe that the presence of life brings about a certain undeniable happiness and especially flowers, with their effortless grace and every perfectly imperfect detail from petal to stem. I have literally surrounded myself in plant life and tons of florals this season. I enjoy arranging them into wild bouquets that probably wouldn't ordinarily be found all together. I spend time noticing each tiny detail, which are only magnified behind my camera lens. I'm especially fond of the pink Peonies. Their delicate petals swirling with an array of soft pinks and diving into deep plum coloring. It almost resembles a paint brush stroke perfectly and how stunning that is! All the photos above are from the SoulMakes Studio over the last week or so, I wanted to share a bit of my flower joy with you all on this lovely Friday!
