Trev and I found this little field near our house a few weeks ago. It was such a gorgeous day, so we stopped for some photos. I spun around in the grass, feeling the warm sun kiss my shoulders and the slight hint of a breeze brush past my cheeks. My flowy ensemble fluttered around me and the charms dangling from my neck danced about in the fresh air, thus I named the lovely necklace I had just created after the Whispering Winds of that day..

It was the first warm day we had here, the first sign of Spring and although the weather now resembles this little, I can happily feel the transformation upon us.

I realize it's not really summer time at all yet, but we've had a few warm, sunny days lately, so you can expect to see some more outfit of the day posts finally! This outfit definitely made me feel a little like I was channeling Janis Joplin, perhaps it's those giant sunglasses.

I'm wearing my favorite new Free People Shorts and old Free People Kimono, Black Hills tank from my favorite t-shirt peddlers at Bandit Brand, the amazing new Crystal Cowry Necklace and tall stack of bracelets are by SoulMakes of course, accompanied by a little Pearl. Love. and my favorite Eagle Ring by Spell Designs. Some of the new designs pictured below are hitting the shop this week! I've never been much for having my photo taken. I'm quite shy and a little self conscious, but it's been really wonderful doing these little shoots with Trev, I'm getting to know myself in a whole new way. This morning, fellow traveler Helen of Gypsy Lovin Light reminded me of this quote by Marianne Williamson, which pretty much sums up my womanhood and gives me quite a bit of welcomed encouragement..

Velvet Underground - Outfit Of The Day

My velvet blazer always makes me feel a little bit like I'm channeling Stevie Nicks, my favorite fashion and music icon. I'm definitely thinking of sunnier days with my white flowy tops, light wash jeans, and SoulMakes Spring Jewelry Collection. I can not wait for the seasons to change. 

We didn't quite get a full body shot on this outfit, so here's the pants from Free People's web site. They are some of the coolest flares I've ever owned, the detail is gorgeous! Being 5'2 I had to trim them, but that was no problem, since they have a raw hem anyway. The Velvet Blazer and lacey tee are also from FP.

Train Tracks & Treasure

I love the area we live in. On one side I'm pretty close to the City, but if I drive in the other direction I find rolling hills, old buildings and train tracks. It's pretty amazing and we never get tired of exploring this place. We stopped in this little old town area for a quick outfit of the day photo op..

 The Greek word "amethystos" which can be translated to "not drunken", from Greek a-, "not" + methustos, "intoxicated". A long time ago the Greeks believed that the stone could protect it's owner against drunkenness and intoxication.

In more modern times Amethyst is said to be a powerful protective stone. It can be used as a remedy for stress and soothes irritability. <3

The rest of my outfit is Free People. I'm in love with my blue bell bottoms. I want to wear them all the time, everyday. Anyway, we've got new stuff dropping in the store all the time now, like that amazing amethyst cluster necklace! So be sure to stop by!
