On the Road - South Congress

We left Virginia at 8:00 PM on Saturday evening, drove through the night into Tennessee and stopped at 3:00 AM for a quick nap. We passed through Memphis, Nashville and headed into Arkansas. Trev and I took turns driving and sleeping. We made it to Dallas on Sunday evening and stopped for dinner with two lovely kindred spirits. On Monday we spent the day wandering around Austin, within an hour of being there we were completely smitten. South Congress Avenue was our favorite, an amazing street lined with eclectic, artsy shops and good eats. The energy of Austin is so different than what we're used to on the East Coast, everybody we met had a certain warmth and welcoming spirit. Not to mention this city is filled with creativity, from live music to local design labels and even the architecture. We'll definitely be visiting Austin again, but for now we're back on the road, headed for New Mexico! We are loving every minute of our South West road trip!

Out on the Road!

And we're off!

What an amazing gift it is to go out on this cross country adventure and experience new people, places and things with my amazing soul mate at my side. We're officially heading out tomorrow. I am feeling so energized by positive thoughts! Today I choose to accept life as it happens. I open myself up to everything I see, hear, think and feel. I am fully present in the moment so that I am able to enjoy this beautiful adventure, whatever comes our way. I am looking forward to the unknown because I know that I am being guided and protected by a power greater than myself. Today I choose to feel love and gratitude! We're going to have so much fun!

Camping Survival Kit

We'll be on the road for a few weeks in the South Western States. We're keeping hotel stays to a minimum. We have friends to stay with scattered across the country, but we're also hoping to get lots of camping in. We've got our tent, stove, lanterns, sleeping bags etc all packed up! We'll be stopping at camp grounds for overnights as much possible, we could not be more excited! Here's my camping survival kit:

Road Trip Survival Kit

 Trev and I are getting ready for the most exciting road trip ever! We'll be hitting the road this weekend, heading South. There are a million places we'd love to see, but we've settled on a few official landing spots; Austin, Grand Canyon, Santa Fe and Denver. Besides our navigational route, the only concrete plan is to thoroughly enjoy spending some quality time together, take tons of pictures and experience the Southwest! The road is the destination.  

Here's my little Road Trip survival kit:

-Soul Makes jewels, made some new gems to adorn myself on the road
-Kingman Turquoise Talisman  and Amethyst Mala Bead Necklace, good healing and calming vibes for the road!

-Spell Designs Sunset road trip tee (appropriately named!)

-Camera, especially a 35mm camera

-Sunscreen

-Trail mix & caffeine, my preference is tea

-An analog GPS system, AKA map

We can't wait to see the West and if anyone knows some good spots in that general direction to visit, eat, see, photograph, etc we'd love your suggestions! We'll be blogging and shipping from the road (don't forget to check out our new site design!)
