We left Virginia at 8:00 PM on Saturday evening, drove through the night into Tennessee and stopped at 3:00 AM for a quick nap. We passed through Memphis, Nashville and headed into Arkansas. Trev and I took turns driving and sleeping. We made it to Dallas on Sunday evening and stopped for dinner with two lovely kindred spirits. On Monday we spent the day wandering around Austin, within an hour of being there we were completely smitten. South Congress Avenue was our favorite, an amazing street lined with eclectic, artsy shops and good eats. The energy of Austin is so different than what we're used to on the East Coast, everybody we met had a certain warmth and welcoming spirit. Not to mention this city is filled with creativity, from live music to local design labels and even the architecture. We'll definitely be visiting Austin again, but for now we're back on the road, headed for New Mexico! We are loving every minute of our South West road trip!
