We've got some new loves in the shop today!

I'm so excited to share these new pieces with you all! They are some of my most cherished designs yet. It seems like inspiration fuels inspiration, if that makes any sense. Lately the Universe has given me many opportunities to release my creative energy and I feel so grateful for that. I can see so clearly that when I get out of the way, everything just miraculously falls into place. I love being a child of this Universe and these amazing new items were born out of that love. I realize it's not really summer time at all yet, but we've had a few warm, sunny days lately, so you can expect to see some more outfit of the day posts finally! This outfit definitely made me feel a little like I was channeling Janis Joplin, perhaps it's those giant sunglasses.

I'm wearing my favorite new Free People Shorts and old Free People Kimono, Black Hills tank from my favorite t-shirt peddlers at Bandit Brand, the amazing new Crystal Cowry Necklace and tall stack of bracelets are by SoulMakes of course, accompanied by a little Pearl. Love. and my favorite Eagle Ring by Spell Designs. Some of the new designs pictured below are hitting the shop this week! We're getting ready with a little Spring Cleaning Sale, so be sure to stop by and check it out!

I've never been much for having my photo taken. I'm quite shy and a little self conscious, but it's been really wonderful doing these little shoots with Trev, I'm getting to know myself in a whole new way. This morning, fellow traveler Helen of Gypsy Lovin Light reminded me of this quote by Marianne Williamson, which pretty much sums up my womanhood and gives me quite a bit of welcomed encouragement..

Dream Big

Somehow I managed to go most of my life without ever hearing this quote and also, without having dreams. For a long time I avoided dreaming, especially dreaming big, because I was afraid of failure, but more so I was terrified of succes. Success would mean responsibility and some kind of commitment to one specific aim. I lacked, or thought I lacked the capability to handle either of these things. Yet, here I am with SoulMakes, following my heart on a whim, chasing my dreams with great fervor and trudging the road to happy destiny. I've grown so much through out this journey (and continue to grow). I've done a lot of things I never thought I could do and the more I learn, the more I want to know. The more I create, the more motivated I feel. Its hard work, but it's fun and so fulfilling, not to mention I have a host of wonderful friends and a great partner cheering me on. From time to time, fear of the unknown creeps up on me and I get scared, but I keep moving and I find myself more and more inspired each day! It's no coincidence that I've been working with a lot of quartz in my latest designs..

Weekend Highlights

This weekend was absolutely glorious!

It was beautiful, sunny and warm. Trev and I spent the day wandering around a park we'd never been to before. This gorgeous little place was complete with hiking trails, old building remains, veggie gardens and FLOWERS. Yes, Flowers. I was thrilled to see the first signs of spring in bloom!

I'm so happy that we're entering into the warm months. We've turned our clocks forward to make way for longer days and more sunshine. I love it when the seasons change, everything becomes alive again and all the playful colors begin to blossom and bud. The cycle of mother nature never ceases to amaze me. Each new season brings its own beauty, spring is definitely my favorite, humbling me with it's graceful transformation from dark to light. Our Creator couldn't have been more metaphorical when forging the seasons, they run so parellel with the cycles of our lives. The warmth of the weekend had me inspired and I took some time to let a little creative energy out..

I Feel Like a Field Again

This quote pretty much explains exactly how I feel. When I am able to appreciate everything around me and see the beauty in the world, I'm free. When I surrender to life and let it happen, I am free. I have a lot going on in my life, all of it is good, but it's a lot nonetheless. Sometimes I find myself a little worn out and overwhelmed. I wonder when I'll ever have time for me again and I worry that this busy time in my life will never end. And then, it snows and I find myself with a day off, wondering what made me doubt that everything would work out. Our snow day was an amazing reminder to me that I'm being taken care of by this beautiful Universe and that I don't need to burn up energy or waste time with worrying. My life is truly remarkable and I find that when I am able to absorb the blessings around me and give of myself, I'm a much more useful and effective person and of course, I'm happier.

I got to spend an entire day making pretty things, here's a peak at a few items you can expect to see in the shop soon.. Thanks snow!!
